There’s a time and place for rooftop bars, charcuterie boards, and cocktail events and then… belting out the wrong words to "Sweet Caroline" in a karaoke booth after midnight.
Whether it's your first or last stop on a night out, karaoke is always a solid idea, so here are the best spots for karaoke in Sydney.
Lantern By Wagaya

Lantern By Wagaya is a sleek Japanese izakaya that packs 22 private karaoke rooms. Each room sports menu screens so you can belt out '90s pop ballads while ordering up the likes of sashimi, deep-fried chicken, grilled oysters and tempura hand rolls.
Karaoke goes for $7 per person, per hour—every single day.
The Duke Of Enmore
148 Enmore Road, Enmore
Your best shot at becoming a rockstar (or at least feeling like one) is at The Duke of Enmore's bi-monthly Live Band Karaoke sessions. Reviving the Live Band Karaoke (featuring a singer, drummer, lead guitarist and bassist) that Sydney smashed for eight years at now-shuttered icon Frankie's Pizza, the sessions offer 150 songs to choose from, with a bonus 30 every single time to mix things up.
Aspiring performers can sign up smash out a vocal solo, jam out with the band's lead singer, perform as a duo, or even jump on the instruments. See upcoming dates here.

El Primo Sanchez
27-33 Oxford Street, Paddington

Karaoke and tequila go hand in hand, so it makes sense there's a single karaoke booth at banging Mexican bar and restaurant El Primo Sanchez, which is by the same team behind award-winning, world-recognised spot Maybe Sammy.
It might be described as a two-person booth, but we reckon you could squeeze in quite a few more—and the "push for tequila" button inside never hurts.
Dynasty Karaoke
1/63 Dixon Street, Haymarket

It’s the one, the only, Dynasty Karaoke. There are 13 private karaoke rooms here, plus a massive public stage where you can really shine, not to mention the lounge bar, live sports bar, restaurant and electronic darts if the vocals need a rest. You can order modern Chinese bites throughout.
